BOB GAROFALO
Girl’s Varsity Coach

Coach Garofalo joined the F-M coaching staff during the 2007 season coaching the Girl’s Varsity program. Coach Garofalo is starting his 10th year as a high school rowing coach. He has also coached at Liverpool High School and Baldwinsville High School.

During those years Coach Garofalo has developed some fine athletes with over 26 former athletes rowing or completed rowing in college - one of which won the NCAA National Championships twice. Eleven of his Varsity and Lightweight boats have medaled at the NYSSRA Championship Regatta in 7 out of 9 years of coaching. While at Liverpool, Coach Garofalo was fortunate to work as an assistant to Coach Mike D’Eredita, who went on to coach the national teams for both Spain and Finland after leaving Liverpool. Coach Garofalo has also coached for the Syracuse Chargers for a number of years, and served as program director in 2004 and 2006.

Bob recently started his own company after managing a computer department for a large engineering firm for over 30 years. He is happily married to his wife Kathy and is proud of his three lovely daughters, one of which is currently rowing on a scholarship at the SUNY University at Buffalo. His oldest daughter is now coaching for one of our rivals (T.C. Williams High School) after rowing for Syracuse University.
